Pneuvay engineering have been awarded preferred contractor status to provide engineering services for the removal of machinery and equipment from their Somerton Plant

The Decision to close the plant was made in Late 2008 and the plant demobilise timeline has to be completed by September 2009.

Pneuvay on site staff include a number of former SPT employees who represent outstanding skill sets and experience to dismantle machinery and prepare it for reassembly elsewhere. Pneuvay staff has also indicated their desire to be involved in the re-assembly either in Australia or to an overseas destination. Purchase of equipment is by an SPT web based auction..

Pneuvay are presently contracted to remove a large Banbury mixer and prepare it for shipment. The unit will be finally installed at the Good Year Veyance plant in Bayswater Victoria.

The removal and reinstall is to be carried on the tightest of schedules.

Gantt charts, contractor schedules cranage, haulage, match marking, engineering and drafting make up the involved process

Other works at SPT that have been completed include removal and packing of tyre presses, extruders and calendar rolls.

These works also include preparing packing and containerising equipment for overseas.
