Graphs of Particle Size Range of
Common Contaminants for Ultra Web
and Fibra Web Filter Cartridges

Ultra-Web and Fibra-Web filter cartridges use nanofiber technology to provide initial filtration efficiency of up to 10 times greater than conventional media, while the Torit-Tex Filter cartridges use Tetratex PTFE membrane that repels water while allowing air and moisture vapor to pass through the membrane's extremely small pores. See both of these graphs to see how it is better in comparison to the competition.

Graph of Particle Size Range of Common Contaminants

This graph displays the particle size range of the following particles and gas dispersoids under a scanning electron microscope, an optical microscope and that which is visible to the naked eye.

  • Carbon black
  • Cement dust
  • Clay
  • Fertilizer and Lime Stone
  • Flour
  • Fly Ash
  • Insecticide Dust
  • Lung Damaging Dust
  • Oil Smoke
  • Oily Weld Fume
  • Paint Pigments

Pleated filters

Many industries are shifting from traditional filter media to pleated filters because it:

  • Reduces maintenance costs, filter replacements and compressed air usage
  • Delivers up to 99.97 % filtration efficiency and higher air flow per filter unit
  • Provides better resistance to inlet abrasion and up to a 5-fold increase in surface filtration
  • Installs easily as it requires no cages

Pleated filters can be manufactured using various fabric including:

  • Spunbonded Polyester - for operation up to 280 degrees F
  • Carbon Impregnated or Metalized for static control
  • PTFE Membrane Media for ultra high efficiency, non-stick surface
  • High Temperature Medias - for operations up to 375 degrees F

Blower air intake filters

Dust, smoke, water, oil spray and other airborne contaminants can greatly reduce the life of your blowers. Prevent these elements from entering your system. Protect it from excessive wear. Choose from the various blower air intake filters we deliver.

Filter replacement vs filter washing vs filter cleaning: what's the real score?

The following facts reveals the real score between filter replacement, washing and cleaning options:

  • Most heavy-duty air filtration manufacturers do not recommend any type of cleaning process to be used on their products
  • Dirt holding capacity of a filter is reduced 20 - 40% with each wash
  • After 3 to 5 washes you will need to replace your filters and bags to ensure your dust collector's performance efficiency
  • There is a real risk of dirt reaching the clean side of the filter if washing is done by inexperienced service technicians
  • Washed filters are generally not tested and as such do not meet the warranty requirements of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM)
  • Cleaning with compressed air and is far less damaging to the filter, bag or cartridge allowing for more re-cleans. Click here to learn more about cleaning using this method.

What's the better option?

If you are wanting to reuse the filter, bag or cartridge, the better option is cleaning. However, there are some of the factors to consider when choosing if to replace or clean these elements is best for you and include:

  • Type of filter media
  • Kind of material filtered
  • Temperature and resistance properties
  • Top and bottom construction
  • Number of hours used
